Genealogy – Feb. 11 @ 10:30 – 12:00 – Professional Genealogist, Donna Blinn and Personal Historian, Sarah Merrill – will present a two part 90 minute program.

Book a Librarian – New to computers or E-readers? You can book one-on-one hour-long sessions with a Librarian. Ages 18 +

Email 101 – This class will get you started with Email. We will talk about what email is, how it works and get you started with an email account from Google. Feb 10 @ 2:00pm / Feb 13 @ 6:00pm

Google Search Tips – Want to get more out of your time searching the web? Learn how to create an effective search strategy and the Google tips and tricks that will help you find what you are looking for fast. Jan 26 @ 2:00

Kindle Class – Learn the basics about your Kindle and how to download free books from the library.  Jan 25@ 6:30 pm / Feb 3 @ 2:00pm / Feb 15 @ 6:30pm – please register

Library E-books and Audio books for IPod/IPad -Want to get free e-books and audio books from the library onto your Apple device? There is an app for that! This class will show you how to install the app and get downloading. Feb 6 @ 6:30pm / Feb 22 @ 2:00pm

Library E-Resources Tour – There is so much more to the library than what is on our shelves. Come take a virtual tour of all that is available to you online. You will discover everything the library has to offer you online from e-books, to classes, to music and so much more. Feb 24 @ 11:00am /Feb 27 @3:00pm / Feb 29 @6:30pm

Magnatune Music – Are you a music lover? You have access to thousands of songs by independent artists with your North Smithfield Library Card. This class will show you how easy it is to stream and download music. Feb 1 @ 6:30 pm / Feb 2 @ 2:00 pm


Nook Class – This class will take you through how to download free library e-books onto your Nook. We will also cover the basics on how to use Nooks. Feb 8 @ 6:30pm / Feb 16 @ 2:00pm

 

One Click Digital – Did you know that through the library you have access to a huge library of audio books you can download from home at anytime? Learn about One Click Digital and how to easy it search, download and then transfer audio books to your iPod and other MP3 players Feb 17 @ 2:00pm


Young Adults

Wednesday, Jan. 25  6:00-7:00pm   Craft Night                                                            Come in & make a craft to take home with you.  For ages 10 and up.  (Please Register)

Family Program

Monday, Jan. 9 6:00 – 7:00 – Meet Harley                                                                        Harley  is a 2 yr old Golden Retriever and a certified pet therapy canine.   Sponsored by the North Smithfield Prevention Coalition, Harley’s owner will talk about how pet therapy benefits all ages.

3 Year Olds meet on Tuesdays at 10:30am

4 & 5 Year Olds meet on Wednesdays at 4pm

If these times do not work with your schedule, check out our Drop In Play Group for infants & toddlers on Thursday mornings at 10:30am.

Infant & Toddler PLAY GROUP

Thursday mornings from 10:30-11:30am

A program for infants & toddlers and their parents or caregivers.  This is a weekly drop-in program; no registration is required.  Participants are invited to enjoy some social time in the Library Community Room, stocked with toys & books.  Children & adults are encouraged to play, dance, read books, sing songs, and have tons of fun!  Miss Aimee will drop by to entertain with about 10 minutes of songs & stories.


Craft Supplies Needed

We are looking for craft supplies for StoryTimes & other Library Programs.  Do you have any of the following items that you would like to donate?

1 or 2 Liter Soda Bottles (empty), Yarn, Ribbon, and Old Puzzles (it’s okay if they are missing pieces)
